Trains at: Sentrum Kampsport, Sarpsborg Norway
Has trained Kali Sikaran since: 2003, but started training martial arts in 1994.
First FMA instructor: Henning Hansen
Started to train Kali Sikaran because: I was invited by a friend to join a Kali Sikaran workshop in 2003 and I gave it a try. It was the most fun I’d ever had, and I knew that I had struck gold.
There was no KS or FMA club in Sarpsborg, so we (my friend and I) started a training group. I have never looked back.
Favourite part of Kali Sikaran: My favorite part of KS is the expression “Expect the unexpected” – and what it means in the dojo and in life in general.
Strives to be better in: Edged weapons. It’s a big territory I know, but luckily I have plenty of time.
I choose to train KSI because: The system is packed with professional instructors and great people! It’s an honour to wear the bull on my shirt!
Future plans in KSI training: Make my club bigger and better!
Future plans in general: I am planning to settle down with my career and start to expand my family.
Additional ranks in other martial arts: 3. dan ITF Taekwon-Do
Biggest martial arts Role model/inspiration(s): Johan Skålberg, Ingar Eilertsen (my former TK-D instructor) and PK Heen (my training partner and best friend)
Competition experience: I have competed in several national and international competitions, including world and european championships. All were back in the Taekwon-Do days.
Other interesting facts: I don’t know anything about football (soccer), and I am proud of it!
